This is all about the top 100 fanfiction stories. But not my top 100, this is your top 100. And when I say your, I mean all of you. I want to know what you guys think of to be the best of the best. This is not about reviews or read count this is entirely about what stories you prefer. It doesn't matter if they're finished, on permanent hiatus, still in the works, a one-shot or what. I don't care if they're famous stories or stories that only have a handful of reviews. I don't care if they are AH, AU, Canon, Non-canon, Slash, or what. I want to know which ones you like.

On January 1st 2011, I will be posting the top 100 list, so from now till November 15th I'm taking your submissions. I want to know what you like and I want to know what your favorites are. Here's how it works, it's real simple. All you do is fill out the following form which allows you to name up to 25 stories, but you only have to name one. You do not have to give me your name or your email. You can if you like, but this can be completely anonymous.

JASPER'S NAUGHTY GIRLS

We want you to write us a o/s featuring any of the Twilight men (vamps, wolves, Volturi), but they must be some form of a teacher/instructor. They should be dark, dominant and controlling. They should be sexy and irresistible, if possible. They can also be in human form.

We don't care who, just as long they know their trade! Jasper as a surfing instructor? Carlisle as a headmaster at an all girls (or boys) school? Edward the music teacher or Emmett the football coach? See where we’re going with this?

MY VAMP FICTION

We all love vampires, don’t we? I mean, what’s not to love – sexy men and women, danger, lust…sounds right up our alley here at MVF. Whenever one of us picks up a new vampire book or series, we always discuss it with each other as we are reading, and one of the most popular phrases that comes out of our mouth (or keyboards, rather) is, “the author’s take on the vampire myth is really interesting…” That got us thinking, and the first MVF Original Fiction Short Story Contest was born.

We are issuing an awesome challenge to our readers this fall: write an original short story and give us your own spin on the vampire legend!

This isn’t a fan fiction challenge; this is a chance to let loose and create your own world. Do you have some brand new characters running around in your head? Have you always wondered how vampires would be different if you gave the legend a little tweak? Tired of all vampires being suave sexy men? This is your chance to get it out there!

Have you ever wondered if you could have written the TwiSaga better? Well, here is your chance. TwiNet is hosting a Twi-Rewrite Contest where you will be able to rewrite a chapter in one of the books.

How It Works

In order to enter the contest, you must fill out the form on the TwiNet site. You will then be given the book and chapter that you are to rewrite.

You can rewrite the chapter as you see fit, however, it MUST follow the same plot as the original. Therefore, no new characters or events can be included.

WINNER in the Fun With Your Clothes On Contest! Bella feels like a stalker, watching the hot guy who sits across from her on the train every night. But when she finds out he's watching back, sparks will fly. Riding the rails has never been so fun!

My God, this was so much fun to read! Edward and Bella are university students who share a philosophy class together. They also both share the same train home every night, and after an embarrassing encounter on said train for Bella (knock knock joke FTW!), she begins to stalk Edward from afar, sunglasses and magazine-coverage fully in place.

What she doesn't realize is that Edward, too, is stalking her. They strike up a friendship - thanks to Edward...or else the stalking would have gone on indefinitely, I'm sure - and eventually TKegl gives her reader a wonderfully, deliciously scrumptious dry hump at the end. Who needs full blown sex sans clothes when you can do it with your clothes on? Umph.

But I like this one shot not just because of the dry hump. Oh, no...TKegl's Edward and Bella are awkwardly adorable and hilarious. They bring me back to my *sniff* university days. She captures the perfect blend of young love and attraction...and the build up is just fantastic.

Grammar Girl: FAZE vs PHASE

So I noticed a word the other day while reading a fan fic, and I realized that I've seen this problem before. Again, it's another homophone confusion (isn't it always?).

FAZE VERSUS PHASE

FAZE --> a verb, and it means to cause embarrassment or social distress. More often than not, it is used to indicate that one has NOT been embarrassed or socially distressed, as in "Carlisle is never fazed by the smell of human blood."

PHASE --> can be a noun ~ a regular part of a cycle or progression (a phase of the moon or a phase of one's life), or it can be a verb ~ to make gradual changes. Of course, we Twihards know it best when we refer to the wolves' changing back and forth between their human and wolf forms.

O, Ryeward, how I love thee. Edward in a kilt. Need I say more? Well, I probably should. But really, just let that image bounce around in your brain for a bit. Is it just me, or is there something about a man in a kilt? Well, not just any man...

Coming Through the Rye by Mac214 is an AH/EB fic that I found a couple months ago and instantly fell in love with. It's a romantic comedy, and every time I saw an update in my inbox, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Well, you won't get that feeling because Mac just completed it (congratulations!), but that just means you'll get to enjoy the story all at once!

In Mac214's world, Edward is a Scotsman in America who finds himself suddenly facing deportation out of the country due to the recent loss of his job. Bella is his co-worker and “best bud” of two years, and she's been nursing more than a crush for him for most of that time. When mutual friends suggest that they get married to prevent Edward from getting tossed out on his ear, it sounds like a good idea to Bella. Of course it does! Who wouldn't want to marry Edward-in-a-kilt in the hopes of getting to know his boaby better? (Want that interpreted? Read the story!) Mac214's story is well written, and Edward's dialogue is done in a Scotch accent that you can almost hear when you read it. I swear, it almost makes me swoon just seeing it in writing. And his INTERNAL dialogue? Well, I'll warn you, Ryeward is all man. He wouldn't hurt a fly and he's a nice guy, but....he farts. And he likes tits. A lot. And, well, he's just your every day kind of guy. A REAL guy. He's not the “magical, do-no-wrong, super-man Edward” we see in so many fics. He's the kind of guy you fall in love with and take home to keep, even if he does insist on leaving his sweaty, smelly rugby gear hidden in a corner where it starts to grow things. Because lets face it, he has an accent. And he wears a kilt. And you can forgive a lot if those two things are included in the package.
