Quote of the Week for 06/11/2010

So I’ve had a pretty tough time this week and have been dealing with quite a few emotions. I decided that I wanted to base this week’s quote off of one particular emotion that I was feeling….heartbreak.

We all know that in New Moon and also in way more fics they we can ever name, that Bella is heartbroken when Edward breaks up with her and leaves her in the woods. But what about a different way that Edward breaks her heart, such as in Insecurites by JamesRamsey, chapter 1.

“Love a human? I have had women by the thousands throw themselves at me and I never allowed them near me. I have had beautiful vampire women offer to share my bed and I have never taken them up on it. What would make you think that one small plain girl would inspire me to love where all others failed? It has always been about her blood and the peace and quiet that her mind offered me. Don’t you see? She is truly our prey. My prey. Predators take out the weak and the sick; her clumsiness is a clear indication that even for a human she is inferior. She needs to be culled.” Edwards snarling words hurt me more than the burn that was slowly spreading through my body.

Now y’all all know that I am NOT a fan of Edward but I have to tell you, this whole paragraph gave me chills and I actually loved him for saying it. This is how I see Edward; this is how I imagine he really feels for Bella. Maybe not so much with the harshness but I think he truly loves the peace and quiet he receives from being around her. I know that some of you will argue this point but no one will EVER change my mind about hating Edward. My inner Maria does like it when he’s bad though.

JamesRamsey gives us many incredible quotes in this story and it’s also one whole of a story. So if you aren’t reading it, you really need too.

As always, have a Lambtastic Friday. Keep reading, writing and reviewing.
