FGB-Eclipse Edition!! Buy Us! We'll Love You Long Time!!

This, of course, is a shameless plug on behalf of us Lambs because a few of us are whoring ourselves out - but it's all for a worthy cause. I've updated this post with current bids because we're doing spectacularly, and there is only ONE day left!!

The Fandom Gives Back-Eclipse Edition is being held from June 26th to July 3nd. Money raised will go to Alex's Lemonade Stand to help fight against cancer. This is a list of what our Sacrificial Lambs are doing to support this wonderful cause!

This year I'm volunteering my new Photoshop addiction for your pleasure, so feel free to buy a slice of time, spank me on the ass, and call me your graphic whore. I'll get on my knees and bend over the whipping bench my keyboard for your pleasure.

Need a banner for a story or a blog? Hit me up! It's first come first served per item and I'll throw in a blinky or icon version too if you want it.

Here are examples of work I've done for people so you can get an idea of the things I can do for you:

There is a full list of graphics I've done on my blog that you can browse without waiting......................... for the scroller ;)

I'll email winners a link to an online form to fill in where you can give me information on any images, text, and people you would like to see in your artwork, so consider the following:

  • Fic Title: Name of your story as you would like it to appear on the banner.
  • Author Name: Name of author as you would like it to appear on the banner.
  • Summary: Short summary so I can get a basis of your story or blog.
  • Pairing: Main characters - also, do you want the original actors or do you have other people in mind? All Human? Cannon?
  • Preferred pictures / things you'd like included: Is there something key to your story or blog theme? Specific image you'd like? Bookmark some links and keep them in mind!
  • Text you'd to see included in Artwork: Got a phrase or tagline? Jot that bad boy down!
  • Colour Preferences: Dark colours, light colours? Black and white?
  • Include Blinky/Icon version? Would you like a cropped version as icon? Need a specific format?
  • Public/Private: Do you mind if I pimp it out on my blog?
All work will be completed by the end of August - if there is a specific deadline, let me know so I can organise the list of winners! CLICK THIS LINK TO BUY ME!!!

As of this posting, Lucy has 5 offers for graphic fuckery left. Lucy's art is stellar!

I am offering up for bidding a minimum 5,000-word, M-rated oneshot. $10.00 starts the bidding. This oneshot can be an outtake of either Colliding Meteors, The Orbiting Meteor, or you can choose the plot and the...er...circumstances. Any pairing - but Jasper and Peter OWN me. Vamp or AH. Delivered within 90 days from auction closing. Happy Bidding and Thank You! Click the link here and you'll find my page. Click it!! Current bid is $130.00.

I also have this, added in after the auction started. A Oneshot. You can provide the prompt or leave it up to me. 2500 word minumum. Pairings preferred are Jasper/Bella, Peter/Bella, or Peter/Jasper. Yes, Peter/Jasper. AH preferred for this auction, and delivered with in 120 days from auction closing. No rape or incest, but anything else goes!! Current bid is $60.00.

I am offering an outtake from "Running". It can be a missing scene, past-take, or future-take (assuming there IS a future - we're not done yet, folks!). There are lots of things I didn't show directly in the story, so if there's anything you're curious about, now's your chance to find out. I will write a 2,500-word minimum outtake, to be sent to the winner directly. The outtake will be done by the end of August (come on, you know me - barring any major disasters, you'll have it sooner). I will post the outtake on FFn a few weeks after the winner receives it. Click Merina's link here, to find Merina's page. Click it! Current bid is $30.00.

I am offering a minimum 5K pre-take of Peter/Edward's past in ACiC. This one-shot will be told in Peter's POV and delivered within 90 days after the bidding ends. Thank you! Click the link here, for this option on Maj's page. Maj is REALLY whoring herself out. Current Bid is $25.00.

You win, you choose the prompt. I prefer AH Jas/B or E/B pairing.
I won't write bestiality, rape, incest and/or BDSM.
One-shot will be completed before the end of the year.
Thank you! Click the link here, for this option. Current bid is $10.00.

IdreamofEddy says..Foreplay with bacon optional. (Just kidding.) JaspersDestiny says.. <--No, she's not... *snickers*

Now, this is our website, so of course we're going to whore ourselves out, and the more money we can help raise, the better. But you won't believe all the wonderful things and authors are putting up for bidding - or up for buying - so head over to The Fandom Gives Back Page, and give it a look-see. The site looks incredible and it's easy to navigate. Good luck, happy bidding, and happy buying!

The Fandom supports Haiti earthquake relief efforts

For those who don’t know me, I work in the field of natural hazards and disasters, so the recent earthquake in Haiti is something that sits very closely with me. I was sitting in Mammoth, California, on the last day of my holiday when the alert chimed in on my mobile, and I spent most of the plane ride back reading reports and field notices in preparation for returning to work. Disasters strike when you least expect them – they show no consideration for colour, class, creed, or race – they often occur without warning, and there is a scramble to coordinate and offer relief to those in need.

That’s what we’ve seen with this earthquake, and I wanted to highlight the actions of the Fandom in getting involved in an insurmountable task. I saw a link tweeted the other day, gave it a little click, and was blown away but what I found.

Prompted by anger at Pat Robinson's comments, mskathy issued a challenge to all her friends and followers on Twitter who love TwiFic to donate at least $5 to a charity of their choosing in return for a piece of writing. What started out as a personal offering rapidly expanded, and it continues to do so every day, with well over a hundred writers now offering pieces towards a special compilation – I could list them here but it’s growing so quickly it would be out of date by the time you got to the end of this post (and there’s still time to add yourself, so drop an email to twifans4haiti@gmail.com).

I got in touch and asked her what prompted her to put her response together, and she got back to me with the following:

“I want to be inspired by leaders -- political, religious, occupational, etc”

“I wanted to be able to do more, give more, feel less impotent in this situation. I want to set a good example for my own daughter, and show her the way I believe compassionate people behave. After ranting to my husband, with her small ears listening to each word I said, I knew I couldn't just leave it at that. If something makes me angry or frustrated, I usually have a hard time simply sitting by. I believe that becoming part of the solution to a problem is far better than wasting my time bitching about it.”

The smallest, simplest ideas are often the greatest. You’ve been donating in droves, with the total currently standing at $30,743.89 (as of posting), and it’s inspiring that her response to Pat Robinson’s negativity has turned his nonsense into such a positive. So, thanks Pat - thanks for inspiring someone to stand up and provide a focal point – the joke's on you. It makes me remember why I love this community, and why I chose to crawl out of the periphery and get involved.

The link to the post on mskathy’s blog can be found here, along with an up-to-date list of authors involved, and the current tracked total – so go have a look, and leave her a comment:

Sadly, this won’t be the last disaster we see, and without preparation and proper response plans, the problems that we’re seeing in Haiti with a lack of coordination in the relief effort will continue to be seen – but your donations are vital in ensuring that those involved will be able to respond when capable, so please take a moment to donate, whether it’s time in forwarding this article on to someone who might be interested, or through an actual donation.

For anyone who is interested in learning more about earthquake safety, and the things you can do to reduce the risks if you live in an area affected by them, please visit the USGS website here – they have a great education section, and an informative selection of links, activities, and articles. Otherwise, feel free to contact me - I'm catonspeed on Twitter, FF, and gmail.

Sacrificial Lambs Give Back...Update!

Hi everyone!

Merina Green won my beta'ing skills at auction, and she has just started posting her first fan fic at FFn. It's called Running:

What do you do when someone steals your Happily Ever After? Sometimes eternity can take an unexpected turn.

It's a unique, M-rated, Jasper/Bella drama/romance tale...it's slow-paced (in a great way) and it's a mystery! Prepare yourselves for some new and interesting characters...

And, prepare yourselves for some Jasper-lovin' in fur...RAAAWR!

Photobucket

I just wanted to pimp her out a bit...she's new, so be gentle...but, she can take the heat, too, which is why I like her!

Congratulations, Donna! I am very proud of you and you know I love this story!

Check it out everyone!

Sacrificial Lambs Give Back...and Alex's Lemonade Stand Wins!

As you know, Twilight Fandom Gives Back organized a four-day Author Auction from the 15th to the 20th of November. The over $85,000 raised went to Alex's Lemonade Stand to help fight against pediatric cancer.

This is a list of what our Sacrificial Lambs did to support this most worthy cause, as well as how successful they were! For more details, please click the links to go directly to each Lambs FFn page or Blog.

IdreamofEddy opened with a straight up offer of a 10,000 word one shot to the highest bidder. Any pairing, any time, any place. Well, ARFess96 put up one hell of a fight, but JaspersDestiny now owns IdreamofEddy's ass...which, in turn, makes her the owner of Peter's ass! Mwahahaha! IdreamofEddy's a valuable woman...$200 for her one shot!

catonspeed auctioned off a 5k word one shot involving two characters of the winner's choice, this includes the winner's name featured in the story. If that wasn't awesome enough, she also offered an outtake of the bidder's choosing from The Last Mile. Congratulations to NCChris (her fabulous beta) and mauralee88 who both put her on lock down quickly - and helped raise $75! Not unfazed by her busy schedule, catonspeed also offered up her blog remodelling expertise, and sold to MaitresseSaint for $25!

JaspersDestiny offered a first class beta service to the highest bidder, offering to beta and correct an entire fiction of the winner's choosing. Merina Green took this great opportunity to make the best of her first fic, at $6/chapter! Therefore, at 20 chapters, Miss Merina Green helped Alex's Lemonade Stand with $120! As Lucy would say, "WIN!!!"

Sacrificial Lambs Give Back...

As you may know, Twilight Fandom Gives Back is organizing a four-day Author Auction from the 15th of November. Money raised will be going to Alex's Lemonade Stand to help fight against cancer. This is a list of what our Sacrificial Lambs are doing to support this awesome cause! For more details, please click the links to go directly to each Lambs FFn page or Blog.

IdreamofEddy - Is opening with a straight up offer of a 10,000 word One Shot to the highest bidder. Any pairing, any time, any place, you name it, she'll write it. There are no words!

Catonspeed --  Is auctioning both a 5k word one shot involving two characters of your choice, this includes your name featured in the story and two characters of your choice for a mere $25. If that wasn't awesome enough, she is also offering an outtake of the bidders choosing from The Last Mile. Both fics will be completed in a 30 day window.

Clurrabella– Surprise, surprise! Our residential chatterbox is releasing a One Shot podcast of the first chapter of The Majors Journal. It will be emailed on the 4th of December to everyone who donates at least 99 cents to buying 10,000 words of Lemons and Lucky Charm!

Sparabella (aka Clurrabella and Sparagus )– Are doing a collaboration and are releasing a series of eight podcasts from their story The War Inside. Now you can keep an angsty Jasper in your pocket...on your Ipod! Each chapter is 10,000+ words, and only a minimum bid of 99 cents! Collect them all!

Mrsalreyami – Has shown her support for Peter Facinelli by offering 3 one shots. Each will be 5,000 words and will be sold for $20 each. First is a Jasper/Bella, vamp or human. Second is an AH Carlisle/Bella. Third is an outtake of the bidder's choice from A Light in the Darkness or Basking in the Light of Our Love.

Mrsalreyami and Clurrabella – Are offering a 10,000 word cuddlecock O/S, with a pairing of your choice, to the highest bidder. There are no words that could explain this madness. I mean, they created the word 'cuddlecock', what on earth will the other 9,999 words be!?

JaspersDestiny – Will be offering a first class beta service to the highest bidder, and has offered to beta and correct an entire fiction of your choice. This is a great opportunity to make the best of your fic!

Love, Clurrabella.
